Carpet Binding in Rhode Island & Massachusetts
Custom-bound area rugs and runners cut to any size.
About Carpet Binding
Carpet binding turns a carpet remnant, an offcut from your installation, or a worn area rug into a finished rug or runner with a clean, durable edge. Bring the piece to any of our three showrooms, tell us the size and shape, and we bind it in-house. Customers use it for stair runners, hallway runners, oversized living room rugs, boats, trucks, and odd-shaped rooms where nothing off the shelf fits.

Carpet Binding FAQs
Can I have a rug made from carpet in your showroom?
Yes. Choose any carpet style we carry, give us the size, and we cut and bind it. It is a fraction of the cost of a designer rug in the same size.
Do you bind old rugs, not just new carpet?
Yes. Reviewers have brought in decades-old wool rugs for new binding and a cleaning and left with something that looks new.
Can you do odd shapes?
Yes. Runners, L-shapes, curves, and pieces with many cuts and angles are all done here.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Drop the carpet at any showroom during business hours. Warwick and North Attleborough are closed Mondays; Woonsocket is open.
What customers say about carpet binding
Went looking for rug for truck project. The staff was extremely helpful in selecting the most appropriate type. After cutting to fit, the shop bound the edges with awesome time and angreat job. Months after completing the main carpet, added runners. Once again, DRL staff did an excellent job on the binding. I would highly recommend their services as they are very friendly and professional. I had a carpet that needed the binding replaced. I called DRL Carpet for an estimate. I could not be happier. Not only did I decide to have the carpet binding done, but also had it cleaned. The work was completed in a professional and timely fashion. I will not hesitate to call them again for any future needs.
Wonderful experience! Had a wool rug 50 yrs old which needed a new binding and a good cleaning. Very Knowledgeable and helpful staff. The rug now looks brand new, couldn’t be happier. Reasonable price and although small, the cleanest most well-organized showroom I’ve ever been in.
I was very impressed with the quality of work. The project was intricate with a lot of cuts and angles. This was a bound project which was most likely very challenging. They did an amazing job.
