Laminate or vinyl plank?
Laminate is harder and more scratch-resistant and usually costs a bit less; vinyl plank is fully waterproof. For bedrooms and living rooms either works; for kitchens, baths, and basements choose vinyl.
How durable is laminate with pets?
Very. The wear layer resists claws better than most hardwood finishes. Choose an AC4 rating or higher for large dogs.
Can you install laminate on stairs?
Yes, with matching stair nosing. It is a common request in split-levels and capes.
